Hello! I have some brilliant news for you… did you know this week is National Chocolate Week??? What a great idea to celebrate what probably every single human being (I bet animals like chocolate too, they just don’t know it yet) loves: CHOCOLATE. For the true chocoholic, like me, just thinking about chocolate can evoke all sorts of feelings and excitement. But being a healthy girl I decided to make my own one. Healthy one. With no dairy, gluten-free, no refined sugar and no nasty stuff. And you, my dear readers are very lucky because I am going to share the recipe how to make a healthy chocolate with you today!
You will need only 3 ingredients! One of them is raw cacao. Raw cacao is filled with antioxidants, oxalic acid, theobromine, anandamide, phenylethylamine, iron, fiber, magnesium, and flavonoids. When consuming raw cacao on a regular basis, you will receive health benefits including the ability to produce regular bowel movements, maintain blood glucose levels and low blood pressure. Raw Cacao also helps to prevent heart attack and stroke. Next ingredients you will need is organic raw coconut oil which is known to help to speed up your metabolism, boots your immune system, lowers your cholesterol, improves your digestion and many other great health benefits. Now who could imagine how healthy you can get just by eating my chocolate! J
Ok, enough of talking, here is the recipe:
Recipe
Ingredients:
¼ cup of melted raw organic coconut oil
1 heaped tablespoon of raw cacao or cocoa
Dash of coconut milk (you can even use the tinned version) – This is optional
Stevia or sweetener to taste. I used Stevia for a low carb option. Honey or brown rice syrup is also good, but has more calories
1 Handful of almonds, multi-coloured raisins and hazelnuts
Method:
Gently melt the coconut oil on a very low heat, add cocoa and stir until smooth. Pour into a small dish lined with baking paper. Put all your nuts in a small plastic bag and bash a few times to crush them. Once crushed sprinkle them along with raisins on to the chocolate mixture and place in the freezer for 10-15 mins. Make sure it stays flat. Once frozen break into pieces and enjoy in moderation.
Much love,
